MAKING A CLAIM AGAINST A SELLER OR SUPPLIER
The usual means of enforcing a consumer claim is to seek redress directly from the seller or supplier. Sometimes this will fail and court action must be considered.
Alternatives to court claim include:
Utilizing the services of an Ombudsman:
Taking advantage of any prosecution of a trader. Where the breach of a consumer’s rights amounts to an offence then compensation may be available on conviction of the offender, as such compensation may be claimable from the Criminal Courts
