PRICE FOR SERVICES
Generally where the parties have agreed on a price then the law will not interfere with the bargain made. Exceptionally in the case of solicitors the client has right to be charged a “reasonable amount” regardless of what may have been agreed to.
Where the parties have not expressly agreed a price then by section 15 of the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 a term is implied that supplier is entitled to a reasonable charge.
Unlike a “quote” an estimate is not taken as the fixing of the price for a service, however should there be a dispute as to what amounts to a reasonable price then a court will scrutinize an estimate most carefull
